The return of the Thundercats cartoon 2011
The popular cartoon show from the 1980s, the ThunderCats, has been re-imagined for the 21st century by Cartoon Network and Warner Bros Animation.
First, a quick reminder of the ‘80s version. A group of catlike humanoids flee their dying home world and crash on another planet. They are hunted by Mumm-Ra, a sorcerer who wants the ThunderCats Sword of Omens, which has mystic powers. The sword belongs to Lion-O, and along with the rest of his band, Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, Wilykit and Wilykat, and his pet Snarf, he must fight for the power of good. If you have fond memories of the ThunderCats, then you’ll love what you see here. In this new version producers took their time for each character’s introduction and we get a chance to know them better, their strengths and weaknesses.

ThunderCats was premiered July 29th on Cartoon Network. Apparently will air every Friday. According to the published info on the website of CartoonNetwork, the next episodes are scheduled for August 5th and August 12th.
