Currency exchange regulations caused the withdrawal of Paramount Pictures from Venezuela
A few days ago we mentioned that Paramount Pictures had suspended the screening of their films in Venezuela. Now it is revealed that the reason for this measure is due to the strict regulations that restrict how many dollars exchange may be transferred outside the country each month, as reports hollywoodreporter.
If the currency exchange rules are causing havoc in multinational negotiations, the next question is: What measures other Hollywood studios will be taking?
Paramount Pictures should not be the only one who was struggling to find a way to recoup their investments in the country. Is a matter of time to see what will happen in this aspect with the film industry in Venezuela, maybe later the currency exchange measures could open a wider gap to the business of cinema, or else we may have to see more movie producers withdraw from Venezuela.
