Sony officially reveals PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition pricing and release date at PlayStation 5 Showcase
Sony has finally revealed the official prices for the new PlayStation 5 consoles! Just as suspected, the standard PS5 (with Ultra HD Blu-ray optical drive) will be priced at $499, while the PS5 Digital Edition will cost about $399.
The PlayStation 5 at the same price as the Xbox Series X
Quite competitively priced for the PlayStation 5, considering that the PS5 standard price is the same as the Xbox Series X. However, the PS5 Digital Edition costs about $100 more than the Xbox Series S (which will hit the market at $299), we know that this version of the console without an optical drive will be capable of playing video games at 4K resolution.
PlayStation 5 Release Date (PS5 Standard and PS5 Digital Edition)
Both versions of the PlayStation 5, standard and digital edition, will be released on November 12th for the following countries:
- United States
- Mexico
- Japan
- Canada
- Australia
- New Zealand
- South Korea
For the rest of the world, PlayStation 5 consoles will be available on November 19th.
