Microsoft buys Skype for $8.5 billion in cash

After all the rumors, was finally confirmed on Tuesday the negotiation of Microsoft acquiring Skype, the biggest VoIP application over the world, for about U.S. $ 8.5 billion in cash.

Skype now will be integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem, being present in the Xbox, Kinect, Xbox Live, Lync, Outlook, and Windows Phone. But also the company is committed to continue supporting and developing Skype clients for other platforms.

Microsoft is on the sight of the ayes of 170 million regular users of Skype, waiting to see if they do a good job with this application or if they will decrease the quality of the service after this acquisition.
