Amazon has left the world speechless with the announcement of their new Amazon Go automated store. The proposal is wonderful, even if at first glance looks simple, in the backgroud Amazon had to play with advanced image recognition technology and build an app to come up with this futuristic store concept that promises people a totally line-free experience to buy their products.

What isAmazon Go?

Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no checkout required, so you never have to wait in line. With the Just Walk Out Shopping experience, you simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take the products you want, and go! No lines, no checkout.

How does Amazon Go work?

The checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by the same types of technologies used in self-driving cars: computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning. The Just Walk Out technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, Amazon will charge your account and send you a receipt.

How big is the store?

The store is about 1,800 square feet of retail space, conveniently compact so busy customers can get in and out fast.

What do I need to get started?

All you need is an Amazon account and the free Amazon Go app installed on your smartphone.

What can I buy at Amazon Go?

Amazon Go offer delicious ready-to-eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack options made fresh every day by our on-site chefs and favorite local kitchens and bakeries. Also you can find a selection of grocery essentials ranges from staples like bread and milk to artisan cheeses and locally made chocolates.
