Sources close to the project confirmed Zendaya as Mary Jane in Spider-Man: Homecoming
The Disney Channel actress, Zendaya, has been unofficially confirmed as Mary Jane Watson, the love of Peter Parker, in the new film of Marvel Studios, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Two individuals close to the project informed to The Wrap that Zendaya (19 years old) will be in the role of Mary Jane in the next movie of Spider-Man starring Tom Holland as the arachnid (who debuted as Spidey in Captain America: Civil War).
Mary Jane Watson had been previously played by Kirsten Dunst in the Spider-Man trilogy by Sam Raimi in 2002-2007, starring Tobey Maguire as Spidey.
Marvel Studios has not given any statement regarding this report to The Wrap, neither has Zendaya so far.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland (Spidey), Michael Keaton (The Vulture), Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman (Mary Jane), Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Laura Harrier (Liz Allan), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine (Shocker), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May) and Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man).
This Spider-Man reboot will hit the big screen on July 7, 2017.
