A century later arrives the adaptation of John Carter to the movies

John Carter is a fictional character from the classic novels series that narrate his adventures on Mars. His first appearance was in 1911 in a novel called ‘A Princess of Mars’. In 2012, a century later, it becomes an action-adventure film.

It was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs and these imaginary adventures have served as inspiration for many filmmakers from the past and present.

The film tells the story of John Carter, who is inexplicably transported to the mysterious and exotic planet Mars, where he is involved in a conflict of epic proportions and discovers that the survival of the planet and its people lies in his hands.

Walt Disney Pictures is in charge of the film production. The director is Andrew Stanton, known for writing, producing and directing other Disney movies like Wall.E and Finding Nemo, among others. The cast is played by Taylor Kitsch, Willem Dafoe, James Purefoy, Ciarán Hinds, Bryan Cranston, Mark Strong, Lynn Collins, Dominic West and Daryl Sabara as Edgar Rice Burroughs, creator of John Carter.
