Internet gets Expanded with new Domain Name Extensions

Now the web address may terminate in any name and not just ‘.com’, ‘.net’, or ‘.org’, among the best known. The Internet Corporation  for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), has voted in favor to add hundreds more Domain Name Extensions as ‘.banks’, ‘.foods’, etc.

This is a great way for companies to have a better control of their brands. For example, there could be new domains like ‘.sony’ or ‘.apple’ to lead users directly to those products. And it could be possible to use nearly any word in any language, including Arabic and Chinese.
