A Twitter picture is worth a thousand words

Twitter is launching a native service for image and video sharing. This was being done for some time with third party services like Yfrog and Twitpic, but now that Twitter is taking the reins of the case, they will surely pass to background.

Dick Costolo, Twitter CEO, commented in the D9 Conference, “A native photosharing experience will be rolled out to 100% of users over the next couple of weeks”.

Shared images will be displaying on Twitter.com, and we will be able to browse them by search (hash tags).

Twitter partners in this technology are the people of Photobucket.

Costolo also said that “users will own the rights to their photos on Twitter”.
