Julian Assange says that Facebook is the most appalling spying machine in the world

In an interview with Russia TodayJulian Assange was asked about what he thought of social networks like Facebook and Twitter, to which he replied without hesitation: “Facebook in particular is the most appalling spying machine that has ever been invented”.

That part of the interview begins at 1:58 min. After making that comment, Assange explains that these big companies such as Facebook, Google and Yahoo had interfaces developed to intelligence agencies of the United States so they can conduct theeir researches manipulating all the information that millions of people blindly trust to social networks every day . This is the result of legal and political pressure that the intelligence agencies apply over these companies.

“Everyone should understand that when they add their friends to Facebook they are doing free work for United States intelligence agencies in building this database for them.” – Julian Assange.
